SDSM-led coalition MPs filed a proposal to Parliament for an oversight debate and a committee of inquiry over the Kochani fire. Party leader and parliamentarian Filipche called on MPs to support the initiative.
On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE MP Bojan Stojanoski said his party would accept that, adding nonetheless that it had to be expanded to cover also other tragedies, such as the 2021 Tetovo hospital fire and the Laskarci bus crash.
Previously, Levica leader and MP Apasiev said that in the capacity of head of Parliament’s Standing Inquiry Committee on Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms, he would schedule a separate session the following week where the petition sent through the March 16 Association would be considered. The trial over the Kochani fire will start on Wednesday (November 19).
