The MP groups in the Parliament of VMRO-DPMNE, VLEN and ZNAM have filed an initiative for establishment of an inquiry committee that will investigate the circumstances that have resulted with mass tragedies in the country in the past years.
VMRO-DPMNE MP Bojan Stojanovski stated that the main goal of the committee would be to locate responsibility for the tragedies within carriers of official functions, both current and former.
“Numerous questions about tragedies like the Kochani fire, the Laskarci bus accident, the Besa Trans bus accident, the Tetovo modular hospital fire and other tragedies, still remain unanswered. This committee will prepare reports that will be used for initiating procedures for determining responsibility of all who were involved in the tragedies in any capacity, including officials who did not act to prevent these tragedies in the first place”, Stojanovski said.
Earlier on Monday, PS Afrim Gashi rejected a similar initiative filed by the MP group of SDSM, claiming the composition it proposed violated the rules for proportional representation, prompting them to accuse that it was an act of cowardice by PM Hristijan Mickoski, who, as they stated, runs away from the truth about the Kochani fire.
