The research “Dealing with Euroscepticism in Western Balkans: Case of North Macedonia” was presented Monday at the Parliament.
The research included a poll, according to which 46.5% of young people do not believe that the country will ever become member of the EU, 35.8% believe integration is possible but not in near future, and only 6.7% believe that the country can become EU member in the next 5 years.
When it comes to what they view as the main obstacle for North Macedonia’s integration in the EU, 84.6% said it is corruption, 61% said it is bilateral disputes with neighboring countries, and 60% said it is the low trust in the institutions of the state.
Deputy Minister of European Affairs Viktorija Trajkov said at the presentation that the government is dedicated to implementing series of measures and programs in order to motivate young people to stay in their home country and build their careers here.
