Judicial Council Presents New, Draft, Program against Corruption

The Judicial Council has presented its new, Draft, Program on Fighting Corruption and Action Plan on Prevention of Corrupt Phenomena, which concerns the 2026-2029 period. Council President Kambovski said it represented an important step for both the judicial system and the EU path.

As he underlined, the judiciary has a double role, i.e. making verdicts in corruption cases and preventing corruption within its own system. The document, Kambovski added, precisely aims to address corrupt phenomena both inside and outside the judicial system.

Asked about Mickoski’s comments on the judiciary, Kambovski stated that based on what he’d heard, the PM had shown the will for legal changes and to submit draft changes to Parliament, “where we will get financial independence”.

Regarding the issue of a need for budget funds, Kambovski said what first had to be done was a complete overview of the situation, from infrastructure to human resources.

“If we want a functional judiciary, there must be funds,” he added.
