There will be no new departments, while VLEN will not get an additional cabinet member, i.e. the same person will serve as 1st Deputy PM and Minister, PM Mickoski assessed regarding the filling of positions within the ruling structure following the election of Mexhiti as Chair Mayor.
Asked by a journalist to be more specific in terms of whether the same person would serve as both 1st Deputy Minister and Minister of Environment, Mickoski stated that they would be a “minister of something”, suggesting one nominated candidate would hold two positions. The names will be known this week. Mickoski expects to submit the nominations on Monday, once the process is completed in full.
When it comes to the rerun processes in Vrapchishte, Gostivar, Centar Zhupa, and Mavrovo i Rostushe, Mickoski, in the capacity of VMRO-DPMNE leader, stated that his party’s coalition will run in the repeat elections.
The PM was also asked whether there would be early elections in 2026.
“In politics, never say never, but the chances of that are very slim”, Mickoski said.
