Mucunski: EU Willing to Assist Dialogue over Disputes with Bulgaria

Minister of Foreign Affairs Timcho Mucunski believes that there is political will in the EU for endorsing a dialogue that would result with resolving open disputes between North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

“At the moment, there is now will for dialogue in Bulgaria, but we can see will in the EU, among certain member-states that want to help this process. Our country is facing damage as a result of the blocked process for EU accession, but I assure all our citizens that in this process the national identity, language and culture shall not be endangered”, Mucunski said.

Regarding the cabinet reshuffle by PM Hristijan Mickoski, Mucunski said that the government’s goal is to serve its mandate in full, and for parliamentary election to take place regularly in 2028, but also added that politics is a live matter, and that he cannot exclude the possibilities for changes that may lead to snap election.

Quizzed about SDSM’s initiative for a party anti-corruption body, Mucunski said that that is only another attempt by SDSM for manipulating the public.
