The Government of North Macedonia adopted at a session held Tuesday afternoon a proposal for dismissing Prosecutor General Ljupcho Kocevski.
As governmental spokeswoman Marija Miteva informed, the government resumes the procedure for dismissing Kocevski, which was halted during the pre-electoral period couple of months ago. She added that Kocevski will be fired over major professional errors which have compromised the function and efficiency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in line with Article 88 Section 1 of the Law on Public Prosecution.
Kocevski in meantime commented the decision as political, adding that he will continue to work professionally and in line with all relevant laws and regulations.
