Filipche Announces Petition against Accepting Failed Asylum Seekers in North Macedonia

SDSM leader Venko Filipche announced at a press conference that his party will initiate actions against, as he said, the anti-state policies of the government, referring to the recent reports by British media that North Macedonia will allegedly accept failed asylum seekers from the UK.

“Experiences from around Europe show that bad and badly implemented policies for integration of immigrants result with serious social problems. Is this the price we and the generations after us are to pay for the loan of EUR 6 billion so that the government can conclude tenders tete-a-tete? We all must take action to protect our country”, Filipche said, adding that SDSM will start an online petition against accepting failed asylum seekers in the country.

PM Hristijan Mickoski in meantime once again denied the information.

“As long as I am PM, not a single failed asylum seeker will be accepted in this country, and not a single tent for accepting illegal immigrants shall be raised. On the contrary, we shall cooperate with our NATO allies in order to strengthen the mechanisms against illegal migration”, Mickoski said.
