The Parliament of North Macedonia received on Thursday from the Government the proposal to dismiss Prosecutor General Ljupcho Kocevski. This officially puts into motion the parliamentary procedure for dismissing Kocevski, and from the Parliament they sated that they will provide more information in due time.
The government initiated the dismissal of Kocevski earlier this year, but then temporarily delayed the procedure to give him room to work on the investigation over the March 16 Kochani fire, as well as during the 2025 local election.
The government argues that Kocevski with his work has compromised the reputation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, while he believes that the decision for his dismissal is politically motivated.
