Thousands of ethnic Albanians participated in the December 13 protest in Skopje, organized in Skopje by DUI leader Ahmeti to express support for former KLA commanders on trial in The Hague.
A Kosovan delegation was present as well. In his speech, Ahmeti expressed gratitude to the U.S., EU, and NATO for their support for the KLA, saying that had helped put an end to the genocide of the people in Kosovo.
The protest is not against North Macedonia, he also noted, stressing that those on trial had contributed to the country’s stability, peace, and future. Social Policy Minister Limani expressed support, as did VLEN co-leader and Chair Mayor Mexhiti. However, the latter was not in attendance.
