U.S. Embassy Expresses Gratitude for Ambassador Aggeler’s Service

Following U.S. President Trump’s decision to recall, among others, Ambassador Aggeler, the Embassy has expressed gratitude for her three-year service in North Macedonia.

It also said on Monday it was committed to ensuring a smooth and effective transition that would prioritize the mission of the U.S. and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Embassy pointed out it would continue to work normally during the process. It didn’t answer Telma’s question as to when Aggeler’s successor could be expected.

Regarding the recalls, the State Department stated that an ambassador was “a personal representative of the President and it is the President’s right to ensure that he has individuals in these countries who advance the America First agenda”.
