“Finding a solution to the dispute with Bulgaria is a state interest of ours”, Foreign Minister Mucunski said at a press conference in Skopje with Albanian counterpart Spiropali.
As he stressed, there is increasing awareness among EU institutions and members when it comes to the specificness of the Macedonian case, which cannot be compared to any other in the newer history of integrations.
Mucunski is adamant that when it comes to progress on the EU path, some form of institutional guarantee is needed for the protection of the Macedonian identity, language, and history.
The Minister also stated that during the EU-Western Balkans Summit, the Government’s representatives, at closed meetings, had asked for a change to the Negotiating Framework conclusions. However, he pointed out that he couldn’t share more information, despite saying it would take time when it came to the answer from Brussels.
