Police will use a special operational plan to deal with traffic jams that have been created for three days already due to the protest over electricity issues organized by Serava and Dukjandzikresidents on Nikola Karev Boulevard (a.k.a. the Plastic Artists’ Street). The Interior Ministry, however, points out that the protest hasn’t been formally announced.
EVN hasn’t specified whether it will ask for police help to solve the issue. The company has said some residents have obstructed the project to reconstruct the network and relocate the counters, as well as that verbal threats have been made against its teams.
“As long as teams don’t have access to work, it will be impossible to rehabilitate the defect”, the company points out.
According to EVN, the electricity issue has been caused by a big number of illegal connections, which is the case with 70% of facilities in that area. On the other hand, protesters have said they pay bills regularly and will continue the protest until the defect is overcome.
