Law on Languages Case to Be Completed in 2026, Says Kostadinovski

The case concerning the Law on Use of Languages will be completed in 2026, Constitutional Court President Kostadinovski stated on Friday.

This year, there were two postponements: over the Kochani tragedy and over the Administrative Court’s dismissal of Judge Elizabeta Dukovska, who was the rapporteur on the case.

Kostadinovski is adamant a decision will be made even though he suspects there were influences on the Administrative Court considering the decision dismissing Dukovska was made two years after her election.

The Constitutional Court’s President strongly disagrees with DUI leader Ahmeti’s demand for the Badinter principle to be used by the Court in its decision-making. According to him, politicians and state organs are anxious because the Court works successfully and abolishes their decisions when that is needed.

Also, he called on Parliament and the Judicial Council to elect a Judge of his institution because, he pointed out, cases have been blocked.
