Mickoski: No Contacts with Bulgaria to Unlock EU Path

According to PM Mickoski, there aren’t direct and indirect, through Brussels or another international stakeholder, contacts with Bulgaria to unlock the EU path.

“There are none. None, but we’re available”, he said on Sunday.

Asked about the Action Plan on the Minorities, a document without which the first cluster of negotiations cannot be opened and that, as the PM had said the previous day, was met with remarks only from Bulgaria, he revealed that Sofia had taken issue because it was in the Macedonian language.

In that regard, he stated that according to the Constitution, Macedonian was the language for international use, saying he couldn’t violate the Constitution. Regarding Bulgaria’s remarks about the content, he said they were irrelevant.

“O.K., we will accept everything else, sure enough, not inclusion in the Constitution, even though that is not in the Action Plan, we will accept all other remarks, but I cannot renounce my mother tongue, Macedonian”, the PM underlined.
