SDSM Presents New Alleged Evidence Linking Alta Bank to VMRO-DPMNE

The SDSM anti-corruption team (ACT) on Monday presented new documents which they claim show connections between Alta Bank and structures, financiers, and officials of VMRO-DPMNE.

At a press conference, SDSM General Secretary Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj called on the Financial Intelligence Office and the Financial Police to open an investigation into the bank’s takeover and examine the origin of funds.

Dimitrijevikj pointed to names within the bank’s management and supervisory bodies, including Lidija Nedelkova, Stevcho Jolakoski, brother-in-law of Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, Marjan Zakjev, allegedly linked to offshore business circles close to Sasho Mijalkov and Orce Kamchev; and Maja Kadievska-Vojnovik, a former VMRO-DPMNE executive committee member.

SDSM described these ties as “a clear picure of an entire structure”, which they argue demonstrates direct links between Alta Bank and VMRO-DPMNE.
