Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Monday attended the promotion of new waste management equipment, including vehicles and containers, for 18 municipalities in the Pelagonia and Southwest regions. He said the initiative marks a shift from decades of neglect toward a modern, sustainable, and European-standard system.
The equipment, including ten trucks with 8 m³ capacity, four with 12 m³, a tipper truck, a Renault truck, and additional gear, will expand waste collection coverage, tackle illegal dumps, and enable waste separation at the source.
Mickoski emphasized this is part of the Regional Solid Waste Management Project, the country’s first integrated national effort aligned with EU directives.
