On Sunday night, VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski said regarding the reruns and completion of the local elections process that his party, in total, had won in 56 municipalities, whereas SDSM had emerged victorious in six.
“That’s no coincidence, that’s a clear political verdict of citizens”, he noted, describing that as yet another “debacle” of the opposition party and its leadership.
In response, SDSM said that despite all pressures and abuse of institutions, mayoral candidates from opposition parties had won 21,394 votes, while those from the government had received the support from 12,534 voters.
It added that the conclusion was therefore simple, i.e. the VMRO-DPMNE-VLEN-ZNAM government had suffered a convincing defeat.
