Turkish citizen Kadir Kara has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the May 2025 murder of fellow citizen Enes Ozdemir and illegal firearm possession.
According to the verdict, announced by the Shtip Court on Tuesday, the defendant, who confessed on 19 December, will be expelled from North Macedonia after he serves his sentence in a prison in the country.
Tuesday also saw the trial of the four people charged with helping Kara continue. All of them are Turkish citizens as well. The legal process will continue on January 20.
