The new hearing in the Kochani fire trial, initially scheduled for Wednesday (January 14), has been rescheduled for January 26.
The decision has been made due to the election of attorney Suzana Joshevska Atanasovska, who represented one of the defendants, former Protection and Rescue Directorate Director Adnan Djaferovski, as member of the Judicial Council.
While she represented her client, she said the charge “doesn’t put us in a court procedure, but rather in a trap, where we should be faring in chaos that’s turned the event in Kochani into a catalogue, not in a search for justice”.
She also pointed to several parts of the bill of indictment that, in her view, make it unserious and not based on facts.
