Leaders’ Meeting: Mickoski, VLEN, and ZNAM Present Stands

After the leaders’ meeting on Wednesday, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski stated that, generally speaking, all participants had agreed that the Przhino format of government should be abolished. However, he added that if all Parliamentary Groups didn’t agree to accept the abolition proposal, the concept could be used also in the following parliamentary elections, after which it would be abolished.

The PM also explained that changes to the Law on Government would have to be made due to the reorganization of ministries.

The PM also stressed that a particular compromise had been found when it came to the Law on Misdemeanors. VLEN co-leader and Tetovo Mayor Kasami stated that his coalition supported an abolition of the technical cabinet concept right away.

VLEN’s position, however, is that if there is no consent from all political factors over that, the concept should be used during the following regular parliamentary elections and abolished afterwards.

The meeting saw VLEN present a stand also that the Electoral Code changes should result in a possibility to increase the participation of diaspora in elections. ZNAM, too, supports changes to the Code and introducing a single electoral district, as well as an abolition of the Przhino format.
