On Thursday, afternoon, the Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption said investigators of its and police officers were conducting searches at multiple locations in the country.
According to the press release, activities were underway to detain people suspected of criminal association, money laundering, tax fraud, and tax evasion of larger proportions.
Several hours later, the Office said that since the searches were still underway, details would be presented on Friday (January 16).
Citing unofficial sources, 4NEWS.mk reported that among those arrested were former women MPs of SDSM, a PRO manager from the ranks of ZNAM, an owner of gas stations, and the wife of a well-known doctor.
A big number of those detained have already been taken to the Prolet police station in Skopje, the portal added.
