VMRO-DPMNE’s Gjorgjija Sajkoski, Chair of Parliament’s Committee on Election and Appointment Issues, said on Thursday that he would propose that a new competition be published the following week to elect the Judicial Council member that would succeed Selim Ademi.
Earlier that day, Parliament Speaker Gashi had said that the competition would most likely be repeated.
The reason, he explained, is the entry into force of the new Law on the Council, passed towards the end of December, which foresees more rigorous criteria and a different procedure on election. The candidate to succeed Ademi, Alban Kadriu, had been nominated before the passage of the Law.
