Changes to Law on Senior Managers of State Institutions and Funds Announced

Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev presented Wednesday the Draft-changes to the Law on Senior Managers of State Institutions and Funds.

According to Minchev, the law-changes will introduce several novelties, including institution management boards of no more than three members, as well as limited duration of the mandate of managers and management board members.

“The position is no longer a title, but a responsibility. Leaders must deliver results. Merit will become the rule, not the exception. The law introduces transparent selection procedures, clear mandates, and restrictions on reappointments”, Minchev explained.

The Draft-changes to the law were published on the Single Register of Regulations (ENER) platform on December 31, and remain open for public comments. Minchev emphasized that reforms must be based on dialogue and inclusivity, not imposition.
