Regarding his initiative before the Constitutional Court on the Law on Misdemeanors related to Safe City, Ziadin Sela, head of one of the Alliance for Albanians’ wings, stated on Monday that the legal changes directly impacted all citizens.
According to him, the law foresees texts related to traffic offenses being sent only in Macedonian, which is a violation of the Law on use on Languages. As Sela also explained, there is an issue with citizens receiving a notification from the system by email or cell phone.
The system, according to the Ministry, will register four offenses: speeding in populated areas, speeding outside populated areas, running a red light, improper parking and, and participation in traffic without a valid driving license or without license plates.
Fines will range from 15 to 500 euros, while 3-12-month bans on driving are foreseen as well, depending on the type of offense.
