Transporters are ending their blockades. The decision was made as a result of the EC’s passage of the EU Visa Strategy on Thursday.
The document points, for the first time, to the issue of professional workers that often travel between Schengen countries. However, there is no quick solution, but rather opportunities will be considered additionally.
“The Commission will work closely with Member States to identify pragmatic solutions to accommodate extended short stays for selected categories of third-country nationals, ensuring a security and economic benefit for the Union, as well as legal clarity for travelers”, it is pointed out in the document.
Transport Minister Nikoloski said the new Strategy would resolve the problem, adding, in a social media post: “Our stands have been accepted”.
