The official implementation of the Safe City system started on Sunday. However, the tolerance threshold is higher, according to the Rulebook passed by the Interior Ministry on Friday.
Regarding speed limits of 30 kmh, the tolerance level is 6 kmh, which means a driver will be fined for going 37 kmh. Regarding speed limits of 50 and 100 kmh, the tolerance levels are 9 and 12 kmh, respectively.
On Sunday, PM Mickoski stated that the increased thresholds aimed at enabling gradual adaptation of citizens.
