Brains Case: Group Analyzing whether There was Compliance with Protocols

Health Minister Aliu, regarding the so-called export of brains for scientific purposes matter, has stated that the working group is analyzing whether there was compliance with protocols according to the law that was in force 30 years ago.

As he explained on Wednesday, at that time, there were other procedures, while MALMED didn’t exist as a separate agency, i.e. it was part of the Health Ministry’s structures. He personally believes it is very unlikely there was misuse because, as he noted, it’s about a research project between two countries, with the second one being the U.S., which has very clearly defined protocols when it comes to biological material.
