SDSM has alleged that VMRO-DPMNE is carrying out a carefully planned operation to rehabilitate and bring its former leader, ex-PM Gruevski, back to the country.
According to the party, Mickoski is just a “temporary” guardian of the leadership position.
The first signal, SDSM said, is the potential change of political circumstances in Hungary and loss of the “political shield” enabling Gruevski to be protected against extradition.
The second and third elements, it pointed out, are the abolition of the positions of vice president within VMRO-DPMNE and attempts to discredit the SPO and verdicts related to the former PM, respectively.
The fourth item, the party underlined, is Mickoski’s comments that he will not run for another term as party leader and change the Statute.
“These maneuvers are not just a partisan game. They’re a direct attack on the rule of law”, Filipche’s party noted.
