On Tuesday, the Interior Ministry showed part of the seized 40 tons of marijuana, located in a facility of the institution. Minister Toshkovski stated that the marijuana had been unlawfully produced and stored.
Tuesday also saw the Government, at a session, order extraordinary controls of all companies for production of medical cannabis. Institutions in the frames of their competences will carry out activities and have 45 days to submit a report. PM Mickoski again said up to 100 tons of marijuana could be seized during the operation.
The investigation covers certain telephone evidence and other materials. However, SDSM leader Filipche said the Mickoski-headed cabinet was trying to divert public attention from the question of how five tons of marijuana had crossed the border.
The Prosecutor’s Office is acting upon the case and not presenting details, saying only there is cooperation with Serbian counterparts and examination of witnesses.
