On Wednesday, while answering journalists’ questions in Bogovinje, EU Ambassador Rokas, asked about the fight against corruption, said he believed things were moving in the right direction.
Though he criticized the 2023 Criminal Code changes and stated that the new version still hadn’t been submitted to Brussels for an assessment, he pointed out that the formation of the National Council for Financial Investigation and Asset Confiscation was truly encouraging. He also said he’d met SCPC President Cucul, adding that that meeting, too, gave him hope that things were moving in the right direction.
Asked about the Bar Exam in Albanian issue, Ambassador Rokas pointed out that he’d been informed, adding that there should be respect for the Constitution, without politicizing.
Regarding the constitutional changes, he said that North Macedonia belonged to the European family, adding that the EU position was completely clear.
