Day 1 of the 62nd Munich Security Conference saw German Chancellor Merz say his country was ready to support the EU integration of new members. North Macedonia’s delegation, led by PM Mickoski, met representatives of the management of several companies.
The PM also held a meeting with European Council President Costa. Mickoski said he’d conveyed the message that Macedonia was committed to the EU path but deserved a dignified and principled process based on values, not on bilateral conditions.
Bulgaria’s acting President, Iotova, too, met Costa, saying her hope was that by June, at the next EU Summit for the Western Balkans, a solution would be found to the issue of North Macedonia if, as she underlined, the country still wants to join the EU.
