Reactions to EU Integration without Right to Vote Issue

If the scenario in which Macedonia joins the EU in 2027, but without a right to vote, materialized, Bulgaria will not be able to continue to set conditions and place a new veto, PM Mickoski said on Saturday. According to him, the idea, already being considered in Brussels, is part of a broader plan related to the peace initiative for Ukraine.

As the PM stressed, it provides for EU membership of Ukraine, Macedonia, Albania, and Montenegro, which would have limited rights. The conditions for integration would be in relation to the rule of law and alignment with the Union’s foreign policy, but for Macedonia, the constitutional changes would be the third condition, the PM noted.

Also on Saturday, at a conference, he said Macedonia was facing European bullying on its road. However, SDSM’s Filipche said the only bullying came from VMRO-DPMNE.
