Regarding the informal idea for membership without a decision-making right, EU Ambassador Rokas said during a visit to Prilep on Wednesday that according to the current EU Treaties, every country that became a member, had a right to vote and veto.
According to him, a change in that regard will require unanimity from all members.
“For the time being, the Treaties are as they are. So, the biggest priority is to implement reforms, implement the commitments, so we can have a clear path towards accession for North Macedonia”, the Ambassador noted.
Asked about the case of former DPM Grubi, he said that, in principle, the EU didn’t interfere in judicial decisions. However, he said the rule of law should be implemented in full for all citizens.
