The chief coordinator of the Logistics Consortium of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Velibor Peulic, says that on Friday (March 6), representatives of transporters from all Balkan countries will define a joint final response to the problems facing them due to the rules for stay on EU territory.
As he explains, Albania, too, has joined the transporters’ demands. Coordinators, Peulic adds, will define the response exclusively for Balkan countries.
Regarding the issue of higher fuel prices due to the Middle East crisis, he stresses that that the increase leads to a series of other price increases. In the meantime, Serbian transporters have said they will start a protest on April 14 if an urgent transitional solution is not found by the EC.
According to the association “International Transport”, all proposals for changes regarding the treatment of professional drivers from the Western Balkans have been rejected. Biljana Muratovska of Makam-trans says it will be known after Friday’s meeting whether there will be protests or other activities.
