State Agriculture Inspectorate Diretor Anakiev, who has been detained for bribery since he was caught with 50,000 euros, has appealed the detention measure. The Court will decide on the matter.
However, Interior Minister Toshkovski said on Tuesday Anakiev had been caught with marked bills, adding that the case sent a clear message to officials that there would be an investigation and accountability for racketeering and officials caught red-handed.
Regarding the case of sick leaves of police officers, he pointed the finger at the doctors who would issue fake documents. As Toshkovski stated, as early as his term as technical Minister, he found it striking that every month, 10% of employees were on sick leave, which was why he requested the checks.
When it comes to the matter of domestic violence, Toshkovski stressed that the previous weeks had seen a significant increase in reports, adding that institutions were working intensively on systemic changes and improving the reaction to victims.
