MTV2 Editor-in-Chief Merita Gashi hasn’t commented on the case of the performance by a 13-year-old girl, wearing a T-shirt containing a so-called Greater Albania map, of a song called “Albanian Territories”.
She says for Kanal 5 that she has been on sick leave for a longer period of time and wouldn’t be able to give an answer, citing health reasons. The TV station has learned off the record that she will be required to explain matters related to the festival’s content at a Program Council meeting on Wednesday.
The Media Agency is preparing an analysis to determine whether the law on the Agency has been broken, while the public broadcaster’s head, Marijan Cvetkovski, points out he has no competences in editorial decisions, saying they’re independent.
