Montenegro, as a regional leader in European integration, can help North Macedonia by becoming the 28th member in 2028, thereby showing that the EU perspective of the region is not a dream, Montenegrin President Milatovic assessed at a joint press conference in Skopje on Tuesday with counterpart Siljanovska Davkova.
Earlier, during the bilateral meeting, Siljanovska Davkova had said regarding the EU path of both countries that she insisted on equal standards.
According to her, the precedent being set when it comes to North Macedonia is just fertile ground for new precedents. Therefore, she added, the country’s progress on that road must be in the frames of the Copenhagen criteria and European constitutional law.
