The SCPC discussed the National Bank Vice Governors case on Thursday. According to its assessment, there’s no grounds for action by it regarding Governor Slaveski.
SCPC President Cucul says that is the case because Parliament or, potentially, the Prosecutor’s Office is responsible when it comes to potential responsibility of the Governor regarding a resignation or dismissal, while SDSM has already filed a charge as well.
When it comes to President Siljanovska Davkova, who nominated Slaveski, her stand is that the Bank’s Council has the primary competence regarding the lawfulness of the Governor’s work. As her Cabinet explains for Kanal 5, the reason why the legislative power decided on that is to prevent the possibility of political influence on the Governor, the Council, and its members.
The Cabinet hopes that the Council will take into consideration Kanal 5 Director Mirchevski’s indications and public stands. In its report, however, the TV station said that several days ago, Siljanovska Davkova stated that if she determined an irregularity in the work of Slaveski, she had a right to propose, to Parliament, that he be fired.
