DPM and Transport Minister Nikoloski said on Sunday that negotiations to overcome the transporters issue in relation to the EES system were going well. He pointed out that the implementation of the EES had been postponed until September 30, saying that that left enough time to complete the required procedures.
According to Nikoloski, solutions are moving towards the introduction of long-term visas for North Macedonia transporters, with progress already being made in several European countries.
Switzerland is already applying the model, while law-related procedures are underway in Croatia, Romania, and Hungary. Nikoloski announced that in the second half of April, a delegation led by PM Mickoski would visit Austria, where the issue would be among the main topics. He added that a solution remained to be aligned with Germany.
