Excise Duty on Diesel and Gas Reduced by 4 and 2 Denars Respectively

The excise duty on diesel and gas (EUROSUPER BS-95 and EUROSUPER BS-98) is being reduced by four and two denars per liter, respectively. The decision was made at an extraordinary session of the Government.

The measure for preferential VAT level of 10% for fuels remains, too, and will be valid for the next two weeks. As PM Mickoski said, for now, fueling for vehicles with foreign license plates will not be restricted. The discount offered by OKTA on diesel and fuel prices will continue in April as well.

According to the PM, no new borrowing outside the planned framework is planned for the time being, though the Government is prepared for the uncertainty caused by the Middle East crisis. In the upcoming period, measures related to the prices of basic products will also be considered.

Although the reduction of the excise duties will cost the Budget tens of millions of euros, Mickoski is adamant assures that there is enough money in it. A rebalance has been announced for June, with the goal being providing funds for current expenses without jeopardizing the liquidity of the Budget.
