On a scale of 1 to 10, MPs in 2025 received a score of 5.7 for the way they speak from the rostrum. The rating refers to how well their speeches were argued and how much they contained personal attacks, discrediting, or populism. Although it is a medium score, it is still higher compared to the previous five years.
That is shown in the research conducted by the Societas Civilis Democracy Institute, conducted in the frames of the Parliament Support Program of the Swiss Embassy and NDI.
Citizens, on their part, increasingly requested direct communication with MPs. Through electronic scheduling on the Parliament’s website, about 700 meetings were held with parliamentarians from their respective electoral districts.
