PM Mickoski Says He doesn’t have Dual Citizenship

PM Mickoski has said that, if the Constitution and laws allow it, he will absolutely support limiting the possibility of MPs holding dual citizenship, as well as expanding that to the executive branch, i.e., ministers and the President. Answering journalists’ questions on Monday, he stressed that he didn’t have any other citizenship.

“If the legal experts, the legal-constitutional experts, say that there is no problem, then I absolutely support it. I do not have dual citizenship, nor do I intend to have dual citizenship. My citizenship is Macedonian, and yes, let it be expanded if the law and the Constitution allow it, I have nothing against it”, the PM underlined.

The same day, President Siljanovska Davkova stated that dual citizenship could be limited by law, but emphasized that that should not only apply to parliamentarians, but also to the executive branch.
