On Tuesday, Levica stated that at a handball match between North Macedonia and Israel in Skopje, the head of its youth organization, Andrej Kuculovski, had been detained for peacefully and respectfully displaying the flag of Palestine. They accused the authorities of detaining him like he was a high-risk criminal.
“Throughout the entire act, not a single police officer identified themselves”, the party added.
Police afterwards released official details, saying it was about a misdemeanor. Once the case is fully documented, an appropriate charge will be filed, it added.
