A scrap yard fire broke out in Shuto Orizari Municipality on Monday, which was contained. According to information from the Crisis Management Center, it was an iron grinding machine that caught fire.
Center Director Muhamed Ali said that according to information from the Regional Crisis Management Center of the City of Skopje, received at 12:03 p.m. from the Mayor of Shuto Orizari, Dudush, the fire was under control and there was no danger of it spreading, as the plot was enclosed by walls.
The City of Skopje said teams from its Firefighting Brigade had immediately gone to the location and were actively working on extinguishing the fire with all available resources.
The irresponsible behavior and the creation of illegal landfills will not be tolerated, the City pointed out. Telma said the fire had spread onto parts of old cars and sheet metal.
