A new hearing in the Kochani fire trial was held on Wednesday. The Prosecutor’s Office presented new material evidence. A photo album containing 92 photographs was presented, showing the condition of the Pulse nightclub after the fire, including numerous unsafe conditions for evacuation.
The Office’s representative pointed out that flammable and insulation materials such as Styrofoam and wooden elements had been found in the facility, which had accelerated the spread of the flames. Additionally, three empty fire extinguishers were found.
According to the report, the fire occurred as a consequence of the use of pyrotechnics by the DNK band.
The hearing had begun in a tense atmosphere, i.e., the defense requested the exclusion of the expertise from the Forensic Medicine Institute, but the Court rejected that as unfounded.
When it comes to the parents of those killed in the fire, they continued their criticism of the suspended sentences against the three police officers, issued the previous day in the separate legal process.
