Following a one-year investigative procedure, the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption has issued an order stopping the investigation in the case concerning the procurement of mazut worth 167 million euros for the needs of the Negotino plant.
As it was explained on Tuesday, though the collected evidence, it has not been established that the suspects committed the acts they were charged with, nor has the existence of another criminal act prosecuted ex officio been determined.
According to the evidence, the mazut procurement procedures in question were carried out in conditions of an energy crisis declared by the Government and in accordance with the legal exceptions provided for in Article 23 of the Law on Public Procurement, with the aim of ensuring the uninterrupted generation of power, the Office added.
The procedure covered one legal entity, RKM, its owners, Ratko Kapushevski and Erdjan Sulkoski, Pucko Petrol’s Asmir Jahoski, former ESM Director Vasko Kovachevski, and nine other persons.
