The Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption has opened an investigation against two people suspected of accepting a reward for unlawful influence as co-perpetrators.
According to the press release, from January 2023 to 2025, using their official position and influence as President, Eljesa Aliji, and a court administrator, asked for and received monetary funds to intervene with judges in the of the Gostivar Basic and Appellate Courts.
They asked for and received 8,000 euros, while the second suspect received 800 euros as well, in order to intervene with a Gostivar Basic Court judge and a council of Gostivar Appellate Court judges to perform an official action that wasn’t supposed to be allowed.
The case concerned a civil procedure. A proposal for precautionary measures against the two suspects has been filed.
