President Siljanovska Davkova Comments on Several Topics

The Prespa Agreement clearly regulates the use of terms for state institutions, but the use of the adjective “Macedonian” regarding identity and the people cannot be prohibited, President Siljanovska Davkova said on Thursday regarding the verbal note issued against the Ambassador of Bulgaria, Radukov, over the “North Macedonian” comments by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Petrova-Chamova.

She emphasized that her stance on the Prespa Agreement hadn’t changed, pointing out that its signatories should be the first to insist on its consistent compliance with it in international relations.

Regarding the political climate in the region and the new government in Bulgaria, the President expects constructiveness and policies based on good faith, underlining that regional understanding was crucial for the integration path of the entire Western Balkans.
