Mucunski: Integration Mustn’t Be Subject of Daily Political Confrontations

At a press conference on Thursday, Foreign Minister Mucunski stated that EU membership remained a strategic goal of the country and one of the key pillars of its foreign policy. He emphasized that European integration required seriousness, responsibility, and a national consensus regarding the most important state issues.

“This is not a process of one government. This is not a process of one political party. This is a process that determines the future of the country”, the Minister added.

He called for a political dialogue based on arguments, institutions, and mutual respect. As he underlined, European integration must not be a subject of daily political confrontations.

Mucunski also said he was appealing to the opposition to show maturity and constructiveness, as well as to actively engage in the reforms related to the European agenda and the EU Growth Plan, especially regarding the Electoral Code and laws in the field of justice.
